From My Notebook: Getting to Know George Vassiliou

The journalist recalls his first acquaintance with George Vassiliou, which he gained indirectly through a friend's family during the 1988 presidential elections. He describes the atmosphere of the time, with its strong politicization and anxiety about the outcome of the elections between Vassiliou and Clerides. Later, as a journalist, he had the opportunity to meet Vassiliou more closely, in a meeting with other journalists. He believes that his success was due to his ability to surround himself with capable politicians.
