Former Employees Accuse Julio Iglesias of Rape and Sexual Assault

Two former employees of the renowned singer Julio Iglesias have filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of rape and sexual assault allegedly committed in 2021. According to an investigation by Univision and elDiario.es, a former housekeeper and a physiotherapist claim they were victims of sexual assault and harassment by the 82-year-old artist, with one of the women describing events that could be classified as rape. Iglesias has not responded to attempts to contact him for comment. The allegations concern incidents that reportedly occurred at the singer's private residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The Second Vice President of the Spanish government and the Minister of Equality have expressed concern and called for an investigation into the allegations. The singer's biographer announced that a revised edition of his book will be released.
