Five-Year Reform Plan for Central Prisons

The Ministry of Justice presented a five-year transition plan for the reform of the prison system, including nine actions. A key element of the plan is the installation of a mobile phone jamming system in the Central Prisons in April, as well as the installation of a roof network to prevent the entry of objects via drones by May 2026. In addition, the recruitment of 90 prison guards is planned by June of this year, with the aim of strengthening staffing levels. At the same time, a new, faster deportation process will be applied for illegal aliens by the end of 2025. The five-year plan is a comprehensive effort to improve conditions of detention and security in prisons, as well as the more effective management of illegal aliens. The implementation of these measures is expected to contribute to reducing crime within prisons and preventing illegal activities. The implementation of the plan is a priority for the Ministry of Justice, as improving the prison system is considered critical for protecting society and rehabilitating prisoners.
