Fisheries Department: Dead Dolphin Stranded in Paphos, DNA Samples Sent Abroad for Testing

The Fisheries Department was mobilized after the discovery of a dead dolphin on a beach in Paphos. Initially, there was a report of a live dolphin that returned to the sea, but later it was found dead on the shore. Samples were taken for DNA analysis and will be sent abroad for further scientific examination. The animal was collected by the Municipality of Paphos for cremation. No external injuries were found, but there were abrasions that may have been caused by friction on the rocks during the stranding.
