First Greek Winery Certified for Regenerative Viticulture

Estates Costa Lazaridi announced that it is the first winery in Greece to receive the Regenerative Viticulture certification from the AGW (A Greener World) organization. This distinction places it among international leaders in the industry and highlights its commitment to sustainable winemaking. The certification is the result of years of work and a strategy focused on restoring and enhancing the natural balance of the vineyard. The winery invests in practices that improve soil health, reduce water consumption, sequester CO₂, enhance biodiversity, and respect the local community and employees. The certification is based on five key pillars: soil, water, air/footprint, biodiversity, and people. Each pillar represents a specific aspect of sustainable viticulture and contributes to creating a more responsible and sustainable future for Greek wine. Estates Costa Lazaridi, with the largest privately-owned vineyard in Greece, is pioneering the implementation of regenerative practices, contributing to environmental protection and the production of high-quality wines. Their wines are distributed in Cyprus by Laiko Cosmos Trading Ltd.
