Financial Times: Russia Sending Drones and Aid to Iran – Kremlin Denies

According to a report by the Financial Times, Russia is close to completing an operation to send drones, medical supplies and food to Iran. Moscow seeks to strengthen its ally, Iran, amid the ongoing conflict, while maintaining an open channel of communication with the Iranian leadership. Talks about sending drones began a few days after the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, and the delivery process began in early March. Russia has already offered Iran satellite imagery, targeting data and information. The Kremlin dismissed the information as “false”, but confirmed that dialogue with the Iranian leadership continues. Western officials estimate that Russian support aims to strengthen Iran's military capabilities and maintain the political stability of the regime. Iran has incorporated the use of offensive drones into its military strategy, while Russia is building single-use drones based on Iranian designs for use in Ukraine. The shipment of drones would be the first indication of direct military aid from Russia to Iran.
