Fidias Panagiotou: Thanks Whoever Reported Him, Claims Fake News - "I Fear They Might Plant Drugs on Me"

MEP Fidias Panagiotou responded to reports linking him to a European Public Prosecutor's Office investigation regarding European funds, dismissing them as baseless and politically motivated ahead of the parliamentary elections. He even thanked whoever reported him, as he believes it gives him the opportunity to demonstrate the transparency of his actions. Mr. Panagiotou denies allegations of covering his rent with European funds, stating that it is a small apartment with a rent of €1200, which he pays entirely from his personal funds. In addition, he maintains a separate office for his team, with part of the rent covered by the European Parliament. Regarding the “Agora” application, linked to his party, Mr. Panagiotou stated that it is partially funded by the European Parliament for functions related to his European activity. He also refuted claims that he “pockets” money from his associates, explaining that he temporarily covers them due to bureaucratic delays. Finally, Mr. Panagiotou expressed fears of a possible defamation attempt, stating that he fears drugs might be planted on him. He argued that he is willing to answer all allegations with full transparency and has already published a video with his responses.
