Η Αστυνομία διερευνά τις συνθήκες κάτω από τις οποίες σε θανατηφόρα οδική σύγκρουση που συνέβη χθες το βράδυ, στην επαρχία Λάρνακας, έχασε τη ζωή του ο Νίκος Νικολάου, 52 ετών, κάτοικος Δρομολαξιάς.
Συγκεκριμένα, γύρω στις 7.30 χθες το βράδυ, ενώ ο 52χρονος οδηγούσε αυτοκίνητο στη λεωφόρο Ελλάδος, στην περιοχή Αραδίππου, κάτω από συνθήκες που διερευνώνται, συγκρούστηκε με αυτοκίνητο που οδηγούσε 68χρονος, με συνοδηγό άντρα ηλικίας 34 ετών.
Τη σκηνή επισκέφθηκαν μέλη της Αστυνομίας, καθώς και της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας, για απεγκλωβισμό του 52χρονου από το όχημα του. Στη συνέχεια, πλήρωμα ασθενοφόρου μετέφερε τον 52χρονο στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Λάρνακας, όπου επί καθήκοντι ιατρός διαπίστωσε τον θάνατο του.
Στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Λάρνακας μεταφέρθηκαν με ασθενοφόρο και οι 68χρονος και 34χρονος. Ο 68χρονος κρατήθηκε προληπτικά για παρακολούθηση, ενώ ο 34χρονος έλαβε εξιτήριο.

Fatal Road Accident in Larnaca Claims Life of 52-Year-Old
A 52-year-old man, Nikos Nikolaou from Dromolaxia, lost his life in a fatal road accident in Larnaca. The accident occurred last night on Ellados Avenue, in the Aradippou area, when the car he was driving collided with another vehicle driven by a 68-year-old man with a 34-year-old passenger. The 52-year-old was extricated from his vehicle by the Fire Service and transported to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 68-year-old was hospitalized for precautionary reasons, while the 34-year-old was discharged. The Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, while the Larnaca Traffic Department continues its investigations to determine the cause of the collision. The accident site was cordoned off to carry out the necessary investigations. The incident caused grief in the local community, as Nikos Nikolaou was a well-known resident of Dromolaxia. Authorities express their condolences to the victim's family. The Police remind drivers to be particularly careful on the road and to comply with the Highway Code in order to avoid similar tragic accidents.
