Electricity Authority of Cyprus Employees Stage Three-Hour Strike

Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) have announced a three-hour work stoppage today, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, protesting serious problems facing the electricity sector. Trade unions at the EAC argue that the situation is deteriorating due to a lack of strategic planning by the government and the inaction of relevant authorities. They point out that despite meetings with the EAC's Board of Directors, where there was agreement on the need to address the problems, they remain unresolved. They accuse the government of focusing on unrealistic proposals instead of ensuring adequate electricity supply, supply security, and consumer support.
