DIPA Calls for Institutional Consultation on Police Working Hours

The Democratic Alignment (DIPA) is requesting an institutional consultation between the Minister of Justice, the Chief of Police, and the police unions regarding the recent decision to change police working hours. The President of DIPA, Marios Karoyian, expressed the party's appreciation for the work of the Police and emphasized the need for consultation on issues affecting police officers. DIPA supports a strong and modern police force capable of tackling organized crime, which has been showing a worrying increase. Furthermore, it highlights the need for incentives and recognition of the contribution of police officers. DIPA calls on the Chief of Police and the Minister of Justice to immediately begin consultations with the unions in order to find a solution that respects both public safety and the labor rights of police officers.
