The Deputy Minister of Culture, Lina Kassianidou, expressed her opinion on the song "Jalla" that will represent Cyprus in Eurovision. Although she did not particularly like the song, she wished it well in the competition. She emphasized that she is expressing her personal opinion and not the official position of the Ministry. Kassianidou mentioned that the selection of the song is a decision of RIK (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation), as preferences are different and Eurovision has changed compared to the past. She considered that the song does not showcase the best culture of Cyprus but emphasized the importance of tradition. However, she reiterated her wish for the song to succeed in the competition, even though she personally does not find it very appealing. Her statement sparked discussions about the song selection and the representation of Cyprus in Eurovision.
