Dam Levels at 13.8% – Alarm Bells Ring

The overall dam capacity in Cyprus is currently at 13.8%, compared to 26% during the same period last year. The total amount of water in the dams is 40,078 million cubic meters (MCM), while the total capacity is 290,804 MCM. The Kouris dam, the largest in Cyprus, is 12.3% full, while the Asprokremmos dam is 12.5% full. Conversely, the dams of the Southern Conveyor (Achna, Germasogeia, Kalavasos) are at very low levels of fullness (1.8%, 3.3% and 8% respectively).
