Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos stated that Cyprus is maintaining normalcy despite the escalating tensions in the Middle East, with schools, universities, and businesses operating as usual and flight levels remaining similar to those before the attack on Iran. However, he emphasized the need for proactive and protective measures, mentioning a failed attack attempt near the Republic of Cyprus and a successful drone attack on a British base. Mr. Kombos expressed gratitude for the support of Greece, France, Italy, and Spain, highlighting the fraternal relationship with Greece and the practical assistance provided by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Cyprus is operating in close cooperation with these countries to ensure its protection. The Foreign Minister predicted that the situation in the region will remain unstable for some time, emphasizing the need for prudent management and the protection of the Republic of Cyprus, without creating a sense of a war-like state. The government aims to ensure the safety of citizens while maintaining daily life as normal as possible. Cyprus is on high alert due to the geopolitical situation, but the Foreign Minister assured that the situation is being handled responsibly and carefully, with the aim of avoiding risks and protecting the country's interests.
