The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, announced that Cyprus has sent an invitation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to participate in the Informal European Council to be held in Cyprus. The invitation includes alternative options for participation, such as representation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs or the Deputy Minister for European Affairs in related meetings. However, the initial response from Turkey was not positive, disappointing the Cypriot side. Despite this, President Christodoulides assured that Cyprus will not stop its efforts to create positive developments in relations with Turkey and the European Union.
