Cyprus: Health Minister Insists on Discussion of National Ambulance Authority Bill

The Cypriot Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, stated that the government will insist on discussing the bill for the National Ambulance Authority in the Parliament's Health Committee, despite a request from the State Health Services Organization (SHSO) for a three-week extension. The SHSO requested the extension to submit its own comprehensive plan for the Authority. The bill aims to provide a definitive solution to the structure and supervision of the Ambulance Service, which was transferred to the SHSO after the implementation of the GESY in 2019. The discussion of the bill remains on the agenda of tomorrow's Health Committee meeting, without being postponed.
