A weak low-pressure system is temporarily affecting the region, while a cold air mass is expected to impact the island from Sunday onwards. Today, the weather will be mainly cloudy with local showers and a possible isolated thunderstorm, especially after noon. Snow or sleet is expected in the higher peaks of the Troodos Mountains. The winds will be light to moderate, mainly north to northeast. The temperature will reach around 15 degrees Celsius inland, 17 degrees Celsius on the coast, and 5 degrees Celsius in the mountains. Tonight, the weather will remain cloudy with local showers and snowfall in the mountains. On Sunday, local showers are expected, gradually limited to areas in the southwest and west, while snowfall will continue in the mountains. The island will be affected by a strengthened northeast wind. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be cold with isolated showers and snowfall in the mountains. The temperature will gradually decrease until Monday and remain at the same levels on Tuesday, remaining below the average climatic values. The snow height at Chionistra is already 26 centimeters.
