Cyprus Emphasizes Cohesion Policy for Competitiveness

Finance Minister Makis Keravnos emphasized the importance of cohesion policy for enhancing the competitiveness and economic resilience of the European Union and Cyprus. Speaking at the General Affairs Council in Brussels, Mr. Keravnos stated that cohesion policy is central to the agenda of the Cypriot Presidency, which aims for an autonomous and competitive EU. The meeting discussed issues such as cities and the mid-term review of cohesion policy for the period 2021-2027, with an emphasis on the need for incentives and flexibility to align policies with the strategic priorities of the EU, especially in conditions of economic and geopolitical change.
