Cyprus' Controller of State Aid Participates in Competition Working Group Meeting

The Controller of State Aid, Stella Michaelidou, participated in the second meeting of the Competition Working Group, within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The discussion focused on the evaluation of the public consultation on state aid in the field of public broadcasting, which yielded positive findings. The Working Group examined the results of the consultation, which took place from October 15, 2025, to January 14, 2026, taking into account effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence and added value for the EU. Cyprus, through the Controller and the officials of the Office of State Aid Control, has been actively participating in European processes since the end of 2024. The Office of the Controller of State Aid continues to represent Cyprus in European processes, promoting its expertise and organizational efficiency in the field of state aid. This participation aims to ensure compliance with EU law on state aid at the national level. The Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU emphasizes the importance of transparency and efficiency in the field of state aid, promoting sustainable development and competition in the European Union.
