Cypriot Antiquity Repatriated from French Online Auction

A significant Cypriot antiquity, a kylix from the Bichrome III pottery of the Cypro-Geometric III period (900-750 BC), has been repatriated to Cyprus from France. The artifact was identified for sale in an online auction by officials from the Department of Antiquities, who contacted the auction house and successfully withdrew it from the sale. The kylix is characterized by two handles and black-figure decoration featuring swastikas and bands. The Department of Antiquities expressed its gratitude to the Nabécor Enchères auction house, the donors, and the Cypriot Embassy in Paris for their cooperation in the successful repatriation of the antiquity.
