Credentials to the Chinese President

Chinese President Xi Jinping accepted the credentials of 18 new ambassadors, including Koula Sofianou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to China. Sofianou's assumption of office coincides with a significant year for Cyprus-China diplomatic relations, as 2026 will mark 55 years since their establishment. The ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and was also attended by ambassadors from Turkey, Austria, Slovakia, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Ghana. Following the ceremony, President Xi delivered a speech to the ambassadors.
