COSPAR Global Space Symposium begins in Nicosia

The 6th COSPAR Global Space Symposium, the world’s most important space research conference of the year, begins today in Nicosia.
The Symposium, that will take place between 3-7 of November, is hosted by the Cyprus Space Exploration Organisation (CSEO) and the International Committee on Space Research (COSPAR).
The event will be attended by representatives from NASA, ESA, all major space faring nations and space agencies, astronauts and numerous distinguished guests from Cyprus and around the world, including Ambassadors from many countries like France, Germany, Japan, India, Israel, Poland, Hungary, CSEO says.
CSEO President George Danos told CNA that this is the most important world space research conference for 2025, a landmark event that brings Cyprus to the center of the global space community.
According to COSPAR, (https://cospar2025.org/), this Symposium, titled “Space Exploration 2025: A Symposium on Humanity’s Challenges and Celestial Solutions”, will delve into critical global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and space weather, while exploring how space exploration and technology can offer solutions.
It will present various matters related to ongoing and planned space programs, fostering discussions on international collaboration, responsible space endeavors, and the role of emerging nations in space exploration, COSPAR adds.
The event, it says, will bring together a diverse audience from around the world, including representatives from space and non-space companies, space agencies, international organizations, researchers, and the wider public.
The Global Symposium is under the auspices of the Chief Scientist of Cyprus Demetris Skourides.
