Constantinos Siakolas Passes Away - Iconic Figure of Cypriot Entrepreneurship

Cypriot businessman Constantinos Siakolas passed away, leaving behind a significant legacy in the construction and investment sectors. Born into a family with a tradition in the construction industry, he studied civil engineering and combined his scientific training with entrepreneurial activity. He served for over 49 years at Ioannou & Paraskevaides (J&P Overseas), where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Siakolas distinguished himself for his successful career in Saudi Arabia, where he increased the group's revenues to $1.4 billion between 1977 and 1992. He then became general manager and later executive director and CEO, contributing decisively to the transformation of the company into an international giant operating on four continents. His success was based on consistency, trust with partners, and the development of close relationships with the countries where he operated. In addition to construction, Mr. Siakolas had a business presence in other sectors, such as the development of the integrated casino resort in Limassol and investments in the hotel sector. His business philosophy was also passed on to his children, Nicolas and Menelaos Siakolas, the creators and shareholders of Cablenet. For his overall contribution, he was honored with an honorary award at the KEVE Business Leader Awards in 2015, recognizing his contribution to the development of Cypriot entrepreneurship and confirming his position among the most important figures in the economic life of Cyprus.
