Clashes at Turkey-Syria Border During Pro-Kurdish Rally

Approximately 1,000 demonstrators supporting the Kurdish cause gathered at the Nusaybin border crossing between Turkey and Syria, attempting to cross into Syria. Turkish security forces prevented their passage using tear gas and water cannons. The mobilization was a protest against the attack by the Syrian army, supported by Turkey, on Kurdish fighters in northeastern Syria. During the clashes, protesters threw stones at police officers, chanting slogans in support of resistance in Rojava. Similar gatherings took place on the Syrian side of the border, in Qamishli. The co-chairs of the pro-Kurdish DEM party addressed the crowd, expressing their solidarity with the Kurdish people and condemning the attacks on Rojava.
