Christophe Leribot to be the New Director of the Louvre Museum

Christophe Leribot will be the new director of the Louvre Museum, following the resignation of Laurence des Cars. Leribot is President of the Palace of Versailles, a graduate of the Louvre School and a professor of art history. His selection was made by French President Emmanuel Macron. Leribot has served as director of the Musée d'Orsay and has been a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Paris since 2023. Taking over the leadership of the Louvre is a significant challenge for Leribot, as the museum is one of the most visited and important museums in the world. The selection of Leribot marks a new era for the Louvre Museum, with expectations for further development and promotion of art and culture.
