Change of leadership in the Human Rights Committee after Charalambidou's removal - AKEL Secretary-General informs the Speaker of the House

Following the removal of Eirini Charalambidou from AKEL's parliamentary group, the presidency of the House Human Rights Committee passes to Giorgos Koukoumas. AKEL Secretary-General Stefanos Stefanou informed the Speaker of the House about this change, which was decided by the party's Political Bureau. This decision comes after the completion of discussions regarding the continuation of cooperation between AKEL and Charalambidou, which did not result in an agreement. AKEL announced that Charalambidou will no longer be a member of the parliamentary group as she rejected the party's proposal framework and did not propose any alternative solution. Additionally, AKEL expresses concern about the possibility of Charalambidou running in the next elections with another party, considering this unethical and offensive to AKEL voters.
