Candidate MP Accuses Auditor General of Workplace Bullying and Political Persecution

Michalis Nikiforou, a candidate MP with the 'Alma' Movement, accuses the Auditor General of the Republic, Andreas Papakonstantinou, of workplace bullying and political persecution. According to Mr. Nikiforou, the Auditor General put pressure on him, linking his political expression to service consequences, after his public support for the Alma Movement. Furthermore, Mr. Nikiforou claims that the Auditor General referred to a police investigation in an extortionate manner, transferred him groundlessly from his position, and deprived him of communication with the director of his original service. The accusations also include an incident where Mr. Nikiforou allegedly faced pressure to falsely state something about the leak of a photograph from an audit by the Audit Office. The lawyer of Mr. Nikiforou sent a reminder to the Auditor General, as the initial letter remained unanswered. He warns of legal action if there is no written response within a reasonable time. Mr. Nikiforou argues that the Auditor General's actions are directly related to his political support for the Alma Movement and constitute an attempt to defame and obstruct his political activity.
