Cabinet to Increase Benefits and Service Limits for National Guard Contract Soldiers

The Cabinet is expected to make significant decisions today regarding the strengthening of the National Guard. Specifically, the service limit for contract soldiers (SYOP) will be increased from 42 to 57 years, the recruitment age limit from 27 to 35 years, and a merit-based process will be established for the advancement of SYOP to non-commissioned officers through written examinations. In addition, the special monthly allowance for SYOP will be increased from 100 to 150 euros and from 200 to 250 euros for those serving in special units (Mountain Commando Squadrons, Underwater Demolition Teams, demining units, and nurses). These decisions are possible due to the country's economic development and responsible economic policy.
