British Bases: No Evacuation Plans for Residents in Episkopi, Dhekelia, and Agios Nikolaos

The British Bases (BB) assure that there are no plans to evacuate residents from Episkopi, Dhekelia, and Agios Nikolaos, despite increased defensive activities in the area. The Central Administration of the BB announced a precautionary, temporary relocation of non-essential personnel from RAF Akrotiri due to the situation. The announcement emphasizes that the threat appears to primarily concern the Akrotiri military base and not the village, however, those who wish to evacuate will receive support, and assistance will be provided to those in need of temporary housing. The Central Administration of the BB has informed the communities of the Dhekelia Bases area, as well as the Municipalities of Paralimni – Deryneia and Ayia Napa. The British Prime Minister has stated that the protection of the British Bases and personnel has been strengthened. Businesses and facilities in all other locations (Episkopi, Dhekelia and Agios Nikolaos) remain open and there are no restrictions, the BB assure.
