The InPeace: Inclusive Peacebuilding project, which is funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law, Alternative and Innovative Methods (ICLAIM) and the Human Rights Platform (HRP), will organise an Information Session on Thursday, January 29 at 11:00.
InPeace is a three-year project that focuses on the bi-communal Technical Committees working on different areas, established by Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot community leaders to ‘address issues that affect the day-to-day life of people, through encouraging and facilitating greater interaction and understanding between the two communities’. You can find out more about the project, as well as newsletters, blog articles, and reports published on the Technical Committees, by visiting the project webpage at https://www.iclaimcentre.org/projects/inclusive-peacebuilding-inpeace.
The organisations ICLAIM and Human Rights Platform will be organising two information sessions to explain the activities, work, and challenges faced by the bicommunal Technical Committees. The first information session will be held by the project coordinator, Dr Nasia Hadjigeorgiou, on Thursday, 29 January 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30, at the PRIO Cyprus Centre, 52 Arsinois Str., 1010 Nicosia. The info session will take place in Greek.
One of the principal findings of the InPeace project is that while the Technical Committees have done important and impactful work, most people in Cyprus are not familiar with what they do. It is in light of this finding, that the information session is being organised. Its objective is to inform opinion shapers in Cyprus so that they can further disseminate the information about the Technical Committees to the Cypriot public.
Dr Hadjigeorgiou invites journalists, researchers, civil society actors, and all interested stakeholders to attend this session and engage in dialogue on the role of the Technical Committees in promoting cooperation, trust, and sustainable peace in Cyprus.
