Anti-Corruption Authority Delays Report on 'State Mafia'

The Independent Anti-Corruption Authority explained the delays in delivering its final report on the 'State Mafia', emphasizing the transparency and accountability it owes in an investigation of such interest. The delays are due to health issues experienced by two of the four Inspection Officers, as well as the appointment of one of the officers to the Public Service, which has been postponed until April 30, 2026. The Authority assures that it will deliver the report before this date and will thoroughly study it, issuing a detailed announcement of the results. Due to the large volume of material, the analysis will take time. The Authority acknowledges the possibility of questioning its sincerity due to the timing, approaching the Parliamentary Elections, but commits to performing its work independently. It has already received drafts for three of the five chapters of the report.
