An Iranian warship, the IRIS Dena frigate, was attacked by a submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka, resulting in at least 101 missing and 78 injured. Sri Lankan authorities launched a search and rescue operation after a distress call from the Iranian ship. Earlier, 32 severely injured sailors had been rescued, while it was reported that the ship had sunk. Bodies of crew members have been recovered during the operation. The frigate, with 180 crew members, issued a distress signal in the early hours of the morning. Authorities are working to identify the bodies and investigate the circumstances of the incident.
