African Dust Returns Tomorrow - Detailed Forecast

Following a prolonged period of increased African dust concentration, the atmosphere in Cyprus has begun to clear, starting from the west. According to KitasWeather, dust concentrations in Paphos and Limassol have subsided to low levels, while improvement is expected in Nicosia, Larnaca, and Ayia Napa in the coming hours. However, the phenomenon has not ended and new episodes of dust transport from North Africa are expected from tomorrow, Thursday, mainly during the evening hours. Authorities recommend special attention to vulnerable groups during these periods. Air quality measurements at 19:00 showed that PM10 levels in Paphos and Limassol are within acceptable limits, while in the other provinces they remain elevated. The improvement in air quality is important for the health of citizens. Despite the temporary clarity, the recurring transport of African dust poses a challenge for Cyprus, as it affects air quality and can cause respiratory problems.
