97 Irregular Migrants Repatriated from Cyprus

As part of efforts to combat illegal immigration in Cyprus, the Police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration have repatriated 97 foreign nationals who were residing illegally on the island. Since the beginning of the year, 309 illegal arrivals have been recorded, while a total of 1,648 foreign nationals have been returned to their countries of origin through voluntary or compulsory procedures. The Cyprus Police continues to intensify its efforts to repatriate individuals who violate immigration laws, in close cooperation with other relevant services. The aim is to effectively manage migration flows and uphold the rule of law. The repatriations are carried out in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, ensuring respect for human rights. The Cypriot Government has committed to tackling illegal immigration as one of its top priorities. The increase in repatriations is part of a broader strategy to prevent illegal immigration and protect the borders of Cyprus.
