91% of Doctors Report Disruptions to Cyprus Health System IT System

A survey by the Pan Cypriot Medical Association (PIMS) reveals that 91% of doctors participating in the General Health System (GHS) have experienced disruptions or unavailability of the GHS IT System. These disruptions typically last from 1 to 4 hours and occur weekly or even daily. The survey, conducted among 728 doctors, also highlights that 62% experience slow system performance, 54% believe this significantly impacts their work, and 82% encounter technical issues such as disconnections and errors. Disruptions cause appointment delays, patient backlogs, and increased working hours for doctors. PIMS demands immediate and permanent resolution of the problem, as the stable operation of the system is essential for providing quality healthcare services.
