33-Year-Old Arrested for Drug Possession and Assaulting Police Officers
Police in Limassol arrested a 33-year-old man following an investigation into illegal drug possession with intent to supply. During the arrest, the man resisted and assaulted police officers, causing disturbance. Initially, police signaled the cyclist to stop for a check, but he attempted to flee, falling from his bicycle and continuing on foot. During the apprehension, the 33-year-old pushed the officers, who managed to subdue and arrest him. A search revealed 26 packages of cannabis (totaling 20 grams), 19 packages of methamphetamine (totaling 9 grams), and €442 in cash. The man was re-arrested for the offense of drug possession with intent to supply and is being held in custody for further investigation. The YKAN and the Agios Ioannis Police Station continue their investigations into the case. The resistance and assault on the police officers occurred before the discovery of the drugs.
