17th Scientific and Folklore Conference in Akanthou

The Municipality of Akanthou, the Akanthou Refugee Association, and the Akanthou School Board are organizing the 17th Scientific and Folklore Conference on the topic of “Akanthou: The cultural and social coexistence with the neighboring villages of Lefkoniko, Kalograi, Flamoudi, Mandres.” The conference will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Latsia Theater. The aim of the conference is to highlight the historical, social, and cultural relationship between Akanthou and the neighboring villages in the area. The organization is carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cyprus and is under the patronage of the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Mr. Marinos Mousiouttas, who will also deliver a greeting at the opening of the proceedings.
