Toyota Gazoo Racing Dominates Rally Sweden

The Toyota Gazoo Racing team achieved a historic victory at Rally Sweden, claiming the top four positions. Elfyn Evans emerged as the winner, dominating the race and securing his second consecutive victory, following his win at the Monte Carlo Rally. Toyota achieved a rare 1-2-3-4, something not seen since 2010 with Citroën, and a historic 1-2-3 in two successive opening rounds of the championship, a feat not repeated since 1984 with Audi. The Swedish rally was full of excitement, with Evans battling with Takamoto Katsuta, who had previously taken the lead. Evans managed to regain the lead and maintain it until the end, securing valuable points and the championship lead. Toyota's success was completed by Sami Pajari in third place and Oliver Solberg in fourth. The Toyota team also dominated the WRC2 category, taking the first two positions. The race also included Italian Lorenzo Bertelli, who returned to the WRC after two years. Rally Sweden was the first winter race of the championship, with adverse weather conditions and demanding routes. The next round of the World Rally Championship is the Safari Rally Kenya, from March 12th to 15th. The race in Kenya is expected to be very different, with high temperatures, tough routes, and high speeds on the African savannahs. Toyota is expected to continue its successful run, while the competitors will try to challenge its dominance.
