Christiana Erotokritou: "Correct Cyprus's Participation in Trump Peace Council"

DIKO Deputy President Christiana Erotokritou defended Cyprus's participation in Donald Trump's Peace Council, describing President Christodoulides' approach as correct. She argued that there are risks with participation, but there are more risks from non-participation, especially after the clarifications requested and received by the Republic of Cyprus. Erotokritou assured that the answers received by the Republic of Cyprus have limited the risks, particularly with the umbrella of the UN Security Council. She noted that if Cyprus did not participate, its position could be taken by Turkey or representatives of the occupation regime, which would be worse. Erotokritou's statement emphasizes the belief that Cyprus's participation in the Peace Council, under the specific conditions, is in the country's best interest and ensures it a position of dialogue and influence.
