In January 2026, tourist arrivals in Cyprus increased by 8.5% compared to January 2025, reaching 121,625. Simultaneously, there was a 15.0% increase in travel by residents of Cyprus abroad, with a total of 170,045 trips. The main countries of origin for tourists were Poland (18.6%), Israel (18.1%), the United Kingdom (15.8%), Greece (9.6%), and Germany (6.2%). The majority of tourists (60.7%) visited Cyprus for holidays, while 22.8% visited friends or relatives and 16.2% for business reasons. Regarding travel by Cypriots abroad, Greece was the most popular destination (27.6%), followed by the United Kingdom (8.5%) and Poland (5.8%). 82.2% of trips by Cypriots were for holidays, while 16.3% were for business. These figures come from the Statistical Service of Cyprus and demonstrate a positive trend in tourism and travel by Cypriots abroad, compared to the previous year.
