Eight Suspects Wanted in Connection with Larnaca Shooting

The Larnaca Police announced a manhunt for eight individuals – six Palestinians, one Jordanian, and another of unknown nationality – in connection with a violent shooting that occurred on Saturday afternoon. The suspects are wanted in connection with a series of offenses, including conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanor, illegal possession and transportation of firearms and explosives, extortion, threats, and assault causing grievous bodily harm. According to the Police, the incident appears to be related to an extortion attempt on a businessman for protection from organized crime. An initial amount of €7,000 was requested, followed by €1,000 per month. When the businessman refused, he received threats, and shortly after, a group of individuals arrived at his shop demanding the money. The situation escalated into a confrontation. The Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
