Increased Security Measures in Cyprus Following Drone Attack – Schools, Embassies, and Hotels Under Guard

The Cyprus Police has increased security measures at schools (particularly those attended by Israeli and French children), hotels, shopping centers, and embassies, following the drone attack on the Akrotiri British Base. Static guards have been deployed at some schools, and a Crisis Management Center is operating at Police Headquarters. Police officers have been recalled from leave, and over 180 locations are being monitored. Checks at checkpoints and airports have been tightened. Simultaneously, the investigation continues into the espionage case involving two suspects, an Azerbaijani and an Estonian, who are allegedly linked to a previous case of monitoring the British Base. The government assures that Cyprus is not a target and urges the public to obtain information from reliable sources.
