Student Grant: New Beneficiaries and Criteria – Budget at €62 Million

The Government is proceeding with a significant expansion of the circle of beneficiaries of the student grant, increasing the budget to €62 million. The modification of the bill for state student grants, which was approved by the Council of Ministers, implements the policy direction of President Christodoulides to strengthen support for students and their families. The income categories are increased by €5,000, allowing more families to join the state student care system. In addition, a 10% increase in the student grant is planned for families with an income of up to €44,000, strengthening family disposable income. Special provision is made for large families, as income and property criteria are abolished for families with five or more dependent children, further expanding access to the student grant. The government emphasizes that economic stability creates the fiscal space for targeted social policy. Investment in students is considered an investment in the future of the country, and the government is committed to continuing to work for a strong economy and a strong society.
