Recent Rainfall Provides Relief to Cyprus' Water Reserves

Recent rainfall is considered particularly beneficial for the water balance of Paphos, significantly boosting water reserves in dams. The Asprokremmos Dam has already recorded an inflow of almost 10 million cubic meters, with the fullness exceeding 18%. Smaller, but significant flow is also recorded in the Kannaviou and Evretou dams. Despite the improvement, the President of the Paphos Water Board appears cautiously optimistic, emphasizing the need for prudent water resource management to avoid water cuts in the summer. The strengthening of the primary sector is emphasized, as well as the need for continued efforts to reduce water waste. The situation remains difficult, as reserves remain at low levels.
