Cyprus' Kesidis Breaks Hammer Throw Record

Iosif Kesidis broke the Cypriot hammer throw record at the Pan-Cypriot Winter Throwing Championships, achieving a distance of 77.32m. This performance surpassed the previous record of Kostas Stathélakos (75.32m) and his own U23 record (74.87m), also making him the first Cypriot athlete to qualify for the European Championships in Birmingham. Moreover, this achievement is the third best performance worldwide this year. KOEAS congratulated both Kesidis and his coach, Panikos Charalambous.
