The Ministry of Interior has launched investigations into Turkish Cypriot properties in the Municipality of Paphos, following allegations regarding the suspended Mayor of Paphos. A team from the Ministry will travel to Paphos next week to inspect property leases, including those made to the Paphos Municipality. The Ministry is conducting sample checks of contracts across Cyprus, aiming to streamline the management of Turkish Cypriot properties. The Director-General of the Ministry of Interior stated that the investigation is ongoing and detailed statements cannot be made at this time. Interventions have already been made in the Mackenzie area, where low rents have been revised. An administrative investigation into property management in Paphos was also conducted during the period 2021-2022. The Turkish Cypriot Property Management Service will continue inspections in all provinces.
