Cyprus Court Lifts Immunity of MP in Domestic Violence Case

The Supreme Court of Cyprus has lifted the immunity of DISY MP Nikos Sykas in order to investigate allegations of violence and threats against his partner. According to the complaint, before a night out in Greece, the MP allegedly made offensive comments, and upon their return, he physically assaulted and threatened her. The complainant initially testified to the Police but later withdrew her complaint, citing psychological stress due to the publicity of the case and the MP's position. The Police are investigating four offenses, including the use of violence.
