Prison Documents Case: All Eight Defendants Plead Not Guilty, Raising Fair Trial Concerns

All eight defendants in the case of the theft of documents from the Central Prisons have pleaded not guilty to all charges. They are also raising concerns about unfair trial and abuse of process. The Nicosia Criminal Court has set the case for March 26th for arguments regarding the preliminary objection. The defense received the evidence in electronic form, while confidential documents can be inspected at Police Headquarters. The defendants face nine joint charges for the theft of 48,432 documents, USB drives, floppy disks, and other electronic devices. Former Prison Director Anna Aristotelous is also charged with leaking classified documents during her tenure.
