Goldman Sachs General Counsel Resigns Amid Epstein Files Revelation

Goldman Sachs General Counsel, Kathryn Ruemler, has resigned following the release of files linking her name to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The files, released by the US Department of Justice, include emails in which Ruemler refers to Epstein as “Uncle Jeff” and exchanges thank you notes for gifts. Ruemler stated that media attention to her previous work as a defense attorney had begun to distract her from her duties at Goldman Sachs. The bank expressed its gratitude for Ruemler’s contribution and highlighted her integrity and professional conduct. Her resignation is the latest in a series of resignations or removals following the release of the Epstein files.
