Files of Turkish Cypriot Property Service Cases Under Review in Paphos

Files of cases of the Turkish Cypriot Property Service in Paphos are under review, following an inspection by a team from the Ministry of Interior. The team collected files relating to specific cases and transferred them to Nicosia for further examination. The inspections are being carried out following complaints submitted to the Guardian and the Minister of Interior, and have increased after the suspension of the Mayor of Paphos. The Ministry of Interior is examining evidence indicating potential distortions in the management of the properties, which began in the early years after the Turkish invasion. At the same time, the Police are investigating cases involving the suspended Mayor of Paphos, regarding domestic violence and sexual abuse. The Mayor denies the allegations, speaking of an orchestrated attack and an attempt at political extermination. The Audit Office is awaiting the completion of the investigations to evaluate the complaints and make relevant announcements.
