Finance Minister: Invest Cyprus Key to Becoming an Investment Destination

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, emphasized the crucial role of Invest Cyprus in attracting investments and establishing Cyprus as an attractive investment destination. In a greeting at the organization's Annual General Assembly, he expressed his satisfaction with the work of Invest Cyprus and assured continued cooperation from the Ministry of Finance, despite geopolitical uncertainties. Mr. Keravnos mentioned that Invest Cyprus's initiatives to strengthen relations with strategic partners, such as India and the United Arab Emirates, were very important. He pointed out that the attraction of foreign companies in the technology sector has strengthened local capabilities, productivity, and innovation. According to the Minister, in 2024, gross inflows of foreign investment amounted to €8.5 billion, ranking Cyprus 2nd in the EU in Foreign Direct Investment per capita and among the top 10 countries globally. He stressed that foreign investments play a crucial role in the development and evolution of the country, especially for small countries with limited resources like Cyprus. Mr. Keravnos thanked the members of the outgoing Board of Directors for their dedication and work, emphasizing their contribution to strengthening the organization's outward orientation.
